Hi, my name is Julia and I am so excited to work together with Inspired Virtual to create lessons that are empowering and inspiring for the homeschool environment. I was so happy to find this platform that not only shares my values, but also has such a great team of teachers.

I live in sunny North Carolina and have been teaching for 29 years. I have my Master’s in ESL and my Bachelor in English Literature. My experience includes founding my own language school in Germany and teaching there for many years until we immigrated to the USA in 2016. I then taught in elementary public school in NC, and went on to be the principal of a small religious school where I not only taught, but also designed the curriculum for K-7th grade. I also had the chance to organize and run wonderful summer camps for elementary age children. In the last two years I moved my focus to homeschooling and online teaching. I then became an accredited teacher with IEW (Institute for Excellence in Writing) at the registered level because I love their excellent materials for homeschooling.

I really enjoy working with children and having the chance to inspire and teach them to use language so that they can positively navigate their way growing up. Learning to speak, read, and write confidently are skills of great value, especially today. These skills are a part of all of my lessons.

 

I grew up in South Africa and left when I was nineteen to study here in the USA. I then went to live in Germany for many years until we came to the USA in 2016. Having lived in three different countries, I give my lessons an international flair that helps broaden the students’ horizons.

Apart from spending time having fun with my husband and two kids, who are very active, I love learning new things. Cooking and sewing have always been great passions of mine, and now I am exploring the art of portrait photography in nature. There is never a dull moment in my home.
