Age Range: 14-18 Schedule: Thursdays for 30 weeks Learning Goals: Students will gain an understanding of basic economics and the economics in countries around the world. Additionally, students will gain an understanding about how every voter and politician affects economic policies. Homework: Students will read Basic Economics (5th edition) by Thomas Sowell and apply the principles of economics to various situations, both concrete and hypothetical. Estimated time outside of class: 1 - 2.5 hours per week Assessment: Progress will be assessed by determining whether the student is reading and understanding the assigned readings, graded assignments, and participation in class discussions. Letter grades will be given upon request.
