Certified ELA, Registered IEW
My name is Julia and I love the idea of Inspired Virtual’s value to teach students to become independent thinkers. I want to be a part of building this online community of students who will have the chance to form friendships with others across the country.
I am a qualified teacher with 23 years of classroom experience and one year of online teaching. I have my master’s in ESL and have taught English in the USA and internationally. I am a registered IEW teacher and am very excited to offer ELA courses on this platform. For me teaching children to write clearly is the basis for them to learn to think clearly, and this is a key part of education. I use the IEW curriculum as it provides a strong basis for all skills involved in language: reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Teaching is my passion. Apart from English, I also teach Jewish education classes. When I am not doing that, I go mountain biking and rollerblading with my 10-year-old daughter, or cook interesting meals from around the world for my family. I live in North Carolina.
My name is Kerry and I am thrilled to be a part of Inspired Virtual, where the focus is teaching children how to think critically without an agenda. I have a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in History. I live in Minnesota and have 4 children. I am homeschooling my 7th grade son and created a curriculum with a focus on math, grammar, reading, and vocabulary. Science, history, and multiple electives, including civics, nutrition, music, and language round out his days. We also have "real world days" where he learns about economics, cooking, car maintenance, lawn care, and other important life skills. I am passionate about history, grammar, reading, and nutrition. I love to play tennis, walk with my husband, and cook for my family. I could not be more excited about the opportunities Inspired Virtual can offer parents and their children.
My name is Dana and I am so excited to be a part of Inspired Virtual. I love learning and I know how important it is for students to become life-long learners. I have been teaching elementary children for over 26 years in several different states and classroom settings. I earned my Master’s Degree in Education and Theory from Arkansas State University in 2015. I have been trained in the Science of Reading and my passion is teaching children to read fluently. I love teaching all subjects using themes and hands-on activities. I currently reside in southern Arkansas with my husband, John, and five children. Our oldest son just graduated from college. We adopted our other children six years ago and they are now 9, 8, and twin 7 year olds. We love to travel and go hiking together. I also enjoy taking time to read a good book.
My name is Erica and I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with your students. I am a NYC teacher turned “homeschooling” mom to 3 children ages 3, 6 and 13.
I began my career in education teaching grades K-12 at a NYC private school. I then decided to pursue my master’s degree in secondary education and social studies. Upon receiving my masters I went on to teach U.S. History, AP U.S. History, Global History, and Government at a NYC public high school and later at a Catholic high school.
My family, like many families, transitioned to homeschooling in March 2020 and will continue to homeschool through the 2021-2022 school year.
I love homeschooling because I am able to witness the “lightbulb moments” and ensure that my children are becoming curious independent thinkers.
This platform provides the unique opportunity to take a subject like history and integrate it into the passions of our everyday life. We can learn history through gardening, cooking, music all while learning a new skill! I am so excited to extend the opportunity to experience history with the students here on Inspired Virtual!
My name is Delicia and I love that Inspired Virtual is all about thinking independently. I love to hear all of my students' thoughts, and I think it's important that they know how to back up their opinions. I have found that a lot of schools will teach students what to think instead of how to think. Inspired Virtual is a safe space where students are free to learn without biases in the classroom.
